🎉 Congratulations to our Student-Athletes of the Month for January!
We celebrate Boys Basketballer, Corbin Scott 🏀, and Girls Basketballer, Kailyn Hedberg 🏀

Coach Underwood highlighted Corbin, saying, "[he] truly embodies what it means to work hard when no one is watching. He is the definition of a team player off the bench and is a dedicated student in the classroom."

Coach Kennedy shares that Kailyn, "is a very respectful, smart, and amazing young lady. She leads her team by example both on and off the court." Also sharing, "she embraces new challenges."

Our CHKD Teddy Bear Collection was a huge success — we collected nearly 200 teddy bears to help spread comfort and smiles! 💙
A big shoutout to our 8th grade teams for leading the charge, and an even bigger CONGRATS to the Shadow Hawks for cheesing the competition with 37 teddy bears!
The Sky Hawks swooped in for a very close second — amazing job!

Hickory SCA, the Dream Hawks & Thunder Hawks had an absolute blast Friday night at the Admirals hockey game! From cheering on the home team to soaking in the nonstop energy of the arena, it was the perfect night to hang out and have fun together. 🙌

Between goals, cheers, and plenty of laughs, some of us even explored the cool STEM activities around the rink. Add in school spirit, great company, and hockey excitement, and you’ve got a night to remember! 🦅✨🏒

A Roaring Good Time for our 8th grade Social Studies Hawks as they stepped back into the 1920s during a fun and interactive “20s” event! Students rotated through engaging stations to experience the life, culture, vocabulary, and dancing of the Roaring Twenties in the United States. 🎶🕺

Our Sea Hawks enjoyed an engaging lab where they explored the chemical properties of acids and bases! Through hands-on testing, observations, and critical thinking, students strengthened their understanding of chemical reactions and scientific inquiry. Learning is even better when curiosity leads the way! 🧪🔬📚

Hickory High School invites rising 9th Grade Hawks to check out their elective fair and attend the scheduling information session, so you are prepared to make your selections for your high school schedule! #risingup #hawkyeah

Hawkeye students dove beak-first into science with a hands-on competition that brought natural selection and animal adaptations to life! 🐦✨ By testing different “bird beaks,” students discovered how specialized traits help birds gather food faster and out-compete others for the same resources.

Lots of energy, friendly competition, and aha! moments filled the classroom as students saw firsthand how adaptations impact survival in the wild. 🌿💡 Science has never been so engaging - or so fun!
