First Grade's Recycle Carnival was so much fun! Families sent in the most creative games for our students (and staff) to enjoy- all made from recyclable materials! We even had Mrs. Napier trying to win some of our games.

Western Branch Primary STEAM Day, organized by Mrs. Wilfong, was selected by the Chesapeake Environmental Improvement Council to receive the Educational Institution Award. Mrs. WIlfong and Mrs. Jackson represented WBP at the 40th Annual Environmental Awards Ceremony on May 23rd.

Mrs. Miller's class participated in Starbucks Day yesterday and her students had the best time! Students reviewed skills as they solved challenges that helped them earn what they needed to design their own cafe. The smiles speak for themselves!

Mrs. Suarez's class collected data on their V is for VROOM Day in a fun and interactive manner. Students made predictions before running a Mario Kart race and then drew conclusions once each race was complete.

Kindergarten Disney Day last week was simply MAGICAL. Students engaged in a variety of Disney inspired STEAM activities as they traveled through each Disney park with their classes. Thank you to the Kindergarten team and Mrs. Wilfong for their efforts to make learning fun!

Mrs. Denius' and Mrs. Phillips' second grade power up group worked on two Readers Theater performances which they graciously performed for their peers. The effort they put into these performances was top notch! Way to go!

Mrs. Landis and Mrs. Stockton brought some science excitement to their classes during their Bubble Day. They learned about how bubbles formed and then got to experiment with bubbles of various kinds.

Ms. Huynh's class created amusement parks using stem bins today. Their attention to detail, cooperation, and use of materials is inspiring! Great job, Second graders!

Mrs. Mutter's class also had a wonderful day with their 2nd Grade Cafe review yesterday! Her little baristas were hard at work to solve their review challenges and build their own cafes!

First Grade had a wind-inspired STEM day this week as they read about William Kamkwamba in 'The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.' Thank you, Mrs. Wilfong, for helping plan the day and helping our classes build working windmills!
