🎉 Join us in saluting the service of over 800 school board members in Virginia for School Board Appreciation Month! The 2024 theme — The Heart of Education: Our School Board — acknowledges that the school board is at the heart of the education system, guiding it with kindness and care. The month-long observance is an opportunity to build a stronger understanding of the crucial role school boards assume in a constitutional republic. School boards voluntarily tackle the enormous job of governing public school divisions, while preserving the core of our democratic values. #CPSCelebrates

Mrs. Stewart's class was the first to use Makey Makey which was purchased using a Chesapeake Public Schools Education Foundation grant. Students were so excited to explore how to close the circuits and control what happened on their chromebooks. We can't wait to do it again!

Mrs. Hoy's class had fun building snowmen while learning about the properties of matter. Mrs. Wilfong helped them mix a solid with a liquid to create a non newtonian fluid known as oobleck. Then they tried to build snowmen. The creativity these students showed is fantastic!

Computer Science Education Week begins today!
