🏆 Congratulations to the Leadership Class at Deep Creek High School for winning a gold medal at the Get It Together Seat Belt Campaign hosted by Drive Safe Hampton Roads! 🚗 From October to February, students led an incredible seat belt awareness campaign conducting parking lot seat belt checks, educating classmates and faculty, hosting pledge drives, running a social media campaign, and even using crash dummies at the winter pep rally! Their efforts made a HUGE impact: 🚘 Seat belt usage increased from 76.92% before the campaign to 90.18% after the campaign- a 17.24% improvement! This is more than just a win, it’s a step toward saving lives. Way to go, Hornets! 💜🩶 #CPSCelebrates

We're so proud to share this incredible story from Western Branch Intermediate! Fifth-grader Elias Faroul was recognized this morning by the Chesapeake Police Department for his extraordinary bravery. Earlier this month, when his mother went into anaphylactic shock, Elias calmly called 911, clearly communicated the situation, assisted his mother, and kept his younger sisters calm until help arrived. For his quick thinking and remarkable composure, the department awarded Elias with both the Life Saving Assistance Award and the Chief's Award of Recognition in front of the entire 5th grade. #CPSCelebrates #InspireCPS

🙌 Big THANKS to the Arts and Letters Committee of the Chesapeake-Virginia Beach Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.! 🎉 Each year, they select schools to receive a special gift through their Literary Arts Café initiative, and Georgetown Primary School was one of this year’s lucky recipients! This morning, they generously donated brand-new books 📖 in a beautifully hand-painted book stand by a local artist. What an incredible way to inspire young readers! ❤️ #InspireCPS #DeltaSigmaTheta
