Today, BRI's 4th graders dove into an important environmental concept: “We all live downstream.” Through hands-on, creative models, they explored how pollution in the Blue Ridge Mountains can travel through connected waterways and impact communities all the way to the Coastal Plains. By linking this new learning to prior knowledge, students gained a deeper understanding of how our actions affect ecosystems far beyond our immediate surroundings. 🌎💧 It was incredible to see their thinking come to life as they made real-world connections about responsibility, conservation, and the power of being informed citizens! We'd like to also give a special thank you to Adrienne Sawyer, CPS Elementary Science Supervisor, for coming out to lead this engaging activity. #SOARingHighatBRI

BRI Students Feel the Rhythm!
Today, our students experienced the energy and excitement of the Dancing Drums Assembly! All three grade levels had the opportunity to participate in this interactive performance, exploring rhythms and musical traditions from West African countries. Students didn’t just watch—they became part of the music! With drums in hand, they learned how rhythm, teamwork, and culture come together to create something powerful and unforgettable. It was an engaging, hands-on experience that brought learning to life and had our Hawks moving, playing, and smiling all the way through! #SOARinigHighatBRI

BRI's 3rd graders had an amazing experience today as they welcomed an incredible Ballet Folklórico performance. Students enjoyed a vibrant Spanish ballet presentation that celebrated culture, music, and storytelling through dance. The best part? Students and staff were invited to join in and learn a few dance steps themselves! It was a joyful, high-energy opportunity to experience the arts firsthand and connect with a beautiful cultural tradition. #SOARingHighatBRI Thank you, Ballet Folklorico and to our amazing PTA for organizing such a fun way to start our week!
