Our amazing SCA Advisors, Mrs. Cigich and Mrs. Carawan, are bursting with pride. A massive, extra-special shout out goes to the dynamic duo, Elizabeth Michaelson and Ella Kelsey! 🌟 These two absolute rock stars organized, planned, and handled everything from start to finish to ensure the day was a sweet success. Our Band, Chorus, and Orchestra participated in the Busch Gardens Music in the Parks Competition this past Saturday. The 8th grade band, 8th grade orchestra, 8th grade chorus, and 7th grade chorus all took home FIRST PLACE in their respective categories. Not only that, but the band earned the Overall Award for earning the highest judges' scores of the day. It was a great day of music and fun, and we are so proud of our musicians for representing HMS so well! 🎶
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Madison Ashworth, a talented Hickory High School senior, for creating and painting the beautiful new mural in our music wing! 🎶🎨

Our students had an amazing opportunity to visit the local fire station this week! 🚒🔥
During their visit, students learned about fire safety, explored the fire trucks and equipment, and had the chance to meet and talk with our community firefighters. It was an exciting hands-on experience that taught valuable lessons about safety, teamwork, and service to others.
A huge thank you to the firefighters and staff for welcoming our students and taking the time to make this visit so memorable! ❤️👨🚒👩🚒
